About McCoy Collaborative We provide full architectural services with a specialization in the restoration, adaptive use and architectural conservation of historic buildings. Founded in 2007, McCoy Collaborative is a multi-disciplinary practice that includes architects and designers, architectural conservators, material specialists, historians and sustainability professionals. We approach the preservation of sites and buildings as conservators of the built environment with the intent of maintaining as much historic fabric as possible while providing excellence in both technical and design solutions that meet owner goals for a building’s long-term continued use.

Nancy McCoy

Principal

Nancy is a seasoned preservation architect with national experience and recognition gained over thirty years of practice. Her experience with adapting historic buildings for continued and long-term use includes National Historic Landmarks such as those at Fair Park in Dallas as well as locally significant residential structures like the Caruth Homeplace. Her work has been recognized with National Trust Honor Awards, state and local awards as well as with Fellowship in the American Institute of Architects and the Association for Preservation Technology International.

As a product of the 1970s energy crisis and publications like “The Whole Earth Catalogue,” I began to see reuse and preservation as a civic duty in addition to an artistic undertaking.

Greg Johnston

Principal

Greg is an experienced preservation architect with over twenty years of experience in a wide variety of project types. Starting with the award-winning Ambassador Hotel rehabilitation in Tulsa at the beginning of his career to the award-winning Sam Bell Maxey Preservation project in Paris, Texas, Greg has the perspective and knowledge necessary to lead complex and unique projects. In his spare time, Greg is a long-term member of the Landmark Commission’s Swiss Avenue Historic District Task Force, the American Institute of Architects and Preservation Dallas.

Andreea Hamilton

​Andreea is an established preservation architect with over twenty years of experience and a dedication to sustainable practices that focus on historic preservation. Her project experience ranges from the award–winning adaptive use of Fen Tower at Cleveland State University, Ohio to the carefully considered re-use of the Saigling House in Plano, Texas. A recipient of a first place Charles Peterson Prize for documentation of historic resources, she has also been a Student Scholar and a Texas Chapter Regional Co-Director for the Association for Preservation Technology International, where she currently serves on its Student Scholarships Committee.

Justin Curtsinger

​Justin is a preservation architect with 10 years of experience in the documentation of significant sites that include Pointe du Hoc, France, master planning, and the rehabilitation of buildings that include the Jack K. Williams Building at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. He brings a passion for history to each of his projects. A recipient of several awards and grants, he is also the Vice-Chair of the Dallas Landmark Commission’s CBD Task Force, involved in the American Institute of Architects, Preservation Dallas, as well as other local community organizations and initiatives.
