Fort Worth Public Market Building

The Fort Worth Public Market Building, a sister to a building in Oklahoma City, was built by the same developer, John J. Harden,  and designed by the same architect, D. Gaylord Noftsger, in 1930. However, the building did not function for its intended purpose for very long and was empty by 1936. In 1941 it was sold to a lumber company and after other owners, it sat vacant for many years. A development team, using HUD financing, will use the historic building for housing amenities and a retail tenant and will build 7 stories of multi-family residential new construction on the project site. MCPA is providing investment historic tax credit consulting services including a Parts 1/A – 3/B and Section 106 review for the project. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
