WOMEN’S WORK
For the Center for Heritage Conservation’s annual symposium on the theme of Women in Preservation, Nancy McCoy presented the keynote address, “Women’s Work,” a personal account of the impact of women on the preservation movement in the United States, and some of the women that had a direct impact on her career. These women include Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Jane Jacobs, Nellie Longsworth, Ada Louise Huxtable, Virginia McAlester and Laura Bush. The CHC Symposium is an annual program featuring perspectives on historic preservation practice and pedagogy. Nancy spoke at the first Symposium in 1999 and has spoken at two prior symposia.
